7 Reasons Why the Book of Revelation is Not in Your Future: #1

#1- Revelation 1:1-3 reveals the theme of the prophecy but also the timing..."the time is at hand" and "these things must shortly come to pass." 

We have to ask ourselves what those first readers of the book would have understood it to mean. 

The word "time" is kairos. It means the divinely appointed time is at hand, near, about to unfold.

It's clear then that the opening message of the book tells us that these things were not intended to be fulfilled in an indefinite future thousands of years later, but in THEIR lifetime. It was very soon to THEM. Unless of course we think Jesus and the angels lied.
